AFTER all these years, The Word was surprised to see the name of erstwhile celebrity chef Bernard King (left) pop up on a list of guest speakers for a Bed & Breakfast boot camp on the Central Coast this week.
The flamboyant foodie will be a guest presenter for the 2002 Conference of the Bed & Breakfast Council of NSW, to be held at the Terrigal Memorial Country Club.
The two-day show kicks off tomorrow with an evening cocktail party at Feasts at Avoca.
King will teach the mob how to serve better brekkies, in a presentation modestly entitled `Breakfast Presentation Ideas'.
He has been keeping a rather low profile for the past few years, and we will be interested to hear how the colourful culinary conductor performs at this week's conference.
Other presenters will include former CEO of the Sydney Olympics organising committee Sandy Hollway, who will talk about customer satisfaction.
